Kacy Winarski: Systems Manager

A Little Back Story

Kacy had quite a journey on her way to becoming eGuide’s Systems Manager. She moved from a small town in Wisconsin to Milwaukee for college. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education, she substitute taught Milwaukee Public Schools for a few years before returning to school. She received her MBA and started a new career journey working in technical support roles where she could blend her love of learning, teaching, and technology.

Moving to Chicago with a friend brought more opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally. She met her partner Tim during her time working for Apple. She loves him almost as much as she loves her cat Orpha. When she isn’t working, she loves gardening, big Lego sets, going to concerts, spoiling her nephews, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading memoirs, watching Bravo shows, snuggling cats, traveling to sunny places, and eating pizza. She takes Halloween costumes and holiday cards very seriously.

Q&A With Kacy

Q: What’s something many don’t know about you?

I usually only get coffee or tea out as a treat, so I like to try some special flavored something. Hibiscus? Please. Lavender Honey? Absolutely. Pistachio? Give it to me.

Q: What is your go-to coffee or tea order?

If I’m drinking tea, I like a simple Green Tea with Honey. For coffee, I’m fairly boring and usually just drink it black, but I always love a good iced coffee, even in the winter!

Q: What is your go to karaoke song?

It doesn’t take much convincing to get me to go to a karaoke bar, especially if it’s one of the two that are within walking distance from my apartment. If I can’t get anyone to sing a Spice Girls song with me then I will either go with Teenage Dream by Katy Perry or Tainted Love by Soft Cell.

Q: What is your go to comfort T.V. show that you could watch a million times and never get bored?

Schitt’s Creek and Park’s and Rec will never get old or unquotable.

Q: What is your favorite eGuide core value?

Have Fun. Be You. is my favorite for sure. Anywhere that not only sees you as an individual but also embraces being silly and weird is a place where I want to be.

Q: What is your favorite partner story?

It’s hard to pick a favorite! I would have to say that so far it has been really fun to work with Independent Record Pressing since I was able to start the Airtable build with them and watch it grow from a few columns to formulas and interfaces. Plus I’ve gotten to learn so much about the production process for vinyl records.

Q: Best eGuide memory so far?

Our weekly happy hours! We play games and sometimes show off our secret talents. The competition can get fierce but there are always lots of laughs.
