Hidden iPhone Level -- #TechTipTuesday

Don't ever be without a level again!

Picture this -- you want to hang a shelf in your bathroom. There's a perfect spot over the toilet, and you've been meaning to put a shelf there since you've moved in. You hop on Amazon and buy what you think will work really well for the space and then set out to hang it.

Half way through you realize that you could really use a level. Yes, the shelf came with one of those templates to tape to the wall so that you know where to put the anchors, but how you don't know if you've taped it to the wall level, and when you look at it form the bathroom door it looks really crooked.

Whip out your iPhone!

Not to fear -- located in your iPhone is a level that can help you out in a pinch. Hidden in the compass app, the level works both flat against a surface or on an edge. Perfect to help you hang!

Stop Blowing Up Your Phone - #TechTipTuesday

A iDevice Notification for EVERYTHING.

Every new game, on-demand service, social media, or utility app wants to send you push notifications. It wants to flood you with reminders that you have not paid enough attention to your device yet today, and that those are phantom vibrations you are feeling, they are just your apps poking you to pay attention to them.

Enough is enough

From your iDevice's settings you can control the madness. Accessing the notifications section of settings allow you to turn on and off notifications for any app on your phone. For native apps like Messages, you have some other great options that edit the way you are notified.

So from what could be a buzz or a ping every three minutes, can be reduced to just a buzz when you receive a text message, or just banner when your Uber is arriving.
